She Lost Herself Poem by Nomvula Hadebe

She Lost Herself

She lost herself
Defined by her natural beauty
She wore the crown
Yet after taking of her gown
She faced her crime
Convicted for loving wholly
They played her slowly
From dreamer to screamer
She lost herself
Her purity all gone
I love, will be there, your mine
That is what she believed
The perfect melody
Ripped by all the stones
Pain, disappointment, venerability,
Sense of belonging all gone like a forgotten song
She lost herself
Oh, pour soul they have played you slowly
Like a slow sound of a piano
Which attracts with a sweat melody
Here she stands lonely
Oh beautiful creature
U have lost yourself
She lost herself
The woman who loved deeply
