She Would Rather Die - Poem by Shaina Lloyd

She believed that no one loved her
or even cares
she doesnt care about anything
especially what she wears
she would wear the same outfit
for days and days
while everyone would stare at her
in so many different ways
her mom was a pot head
her dad was a drunk
and her oldest brother
was turning into a punk
they had no money
and had little to eat
their house was no where near
nice and neat
the girl was barely noticed
each and everyday
sometimes she wished
that she could run away
instead she would get a knife
and cut her wrist at night
because she thought that death
was better than her life
but then one night
she went to far
and it was worse
than just a scar
there she lay on the floor
with a pile of blood by her bed
but next to her was a letter
and this is what it said
Mom, Dad, i know you dont care
that I would rather die
and tonight I will go someplace better
and you should know the reason why....
