I opened up my soul and found someone I longed to be,
but I caused so much aggro when I tried this other me,
I knew she must be locked out in the cold,
so sadly, re-interred my crock of cold.
And as I did, I saw the rainbow fade
to take the promised life that I'd betrayed.
It took my promised life despite the secret tears I cried,
and now they think it's over, for they don't know how I've lied.
He thinks I'm coming closer, thinks its best,
I'm back with him and broken from the rest.
But I am just an empty shell this time
whose precious pearl was trampled by the swine -
an empty shell whose fed up to the brim,
so no way is that winkle coming in -
a lonely shell who wishes she was dead
who's sick of bloody limpets and their mussel in her bed.
The sea-squirts can get lost, cos they're all shrimps.
This crab is sick to death of bloody wimps.
But there's one scamp I fancy, even now,
and though he is a prawn, I've made a vow,
I'll whelkome him back home, if he can show me who I am
but any other cockle make me close up like a clam.
