Ships Poem by Chris Bradshaw

Ships

Rating: 4.8

When the world you know turns cold
And the ships of your golden youth
Fade to pearls on the horizon, my love
Know that I'm gazing on that vastness
With the same blue eyes
That once saw only you

So take your withered heart
And wash it clean on the tide
Fill the ocean up with crimson tears
Let your shattered spirit bleed
Until, empty and free,
You become the evening sky
