Shoe Poem Poem by Bernard Henrie

Shoe Poem

How wet I have got in the downpour
to sit opposite you in reflected
glass of the cafe window, a wedding
photograph, squat, and overweight.

How much you must love me to offer
black or red strap-on high heels.
