Shooting Star Poem by MERAKI V

Shooting Star

As she sat wondering
beneath the shiny night sky
waiting for a shooting star
among a zillion twinkling stars

Lost in her thoughts in the light of the moon-
her only friend for the night
and the nights to come
the gentle breeze blows throw her loose hair
soft grass moves beside her cold fingers

Her eyes sparkling missing her other half
an ocean of memories crosses her mind
warm tears roll down her cheeks
her chest becomes heavy again

All the little things she's missing
wishing there was a way to turn back the time
Does she want to live the moments again or undo them somehow?
She hasn't accepted death as a part of life yet
How long can she take this sorrow?
How long can she wait?
waiting to make an unknown wish upon a shooting star.
