Short Day Poem by Joseph M Donatelli

Short Day

The verile sun rose outside and in
I conspired with the wild wind
To sing the songs of mornings bliss
And later hummed the mellow tunes
Of quiet musings afternoon
I finally beat the deap base drum
Of sleepy evenings slow retreat
My weary mind and clothes undone
The time of rest has come
