Show Her The Way

There is a reason why I'm here
Why now You give me sight
Why now I've learned Your name to fear
And why I’ve seen The Light

You know my name, my heart and soul
My secret thoughts are known
Yet still my God You've made me whole
From high upon Your throne

I've sought The Way I've heard Your voice
I hope to live as planned
I've made Your Son my life long choice
Through whom I understand

But Lord my God this world is lost
Religion’s made her blind
For every wind of doctrine tossed
Has helped to cloud her mind

Through wayward sin her children stray
In shame they leave life's path
Through lust they choose the devil's way
And reap eternal wrath

She knows no peace, so little joy
No taste of selfless love
In Satan's hand she's just a toy
That's barred from life above

How can she draw more close to You?
How can she seek Your face?
How may she drink The Morning Dew?
And find the state of grace?

Would You anoint my head with oil?
Set now Your servant free?
That You may cultivate Your soil
Through such a wretch as me……….
