Sight Poem by Zimaya Nightshade

Sight

I don't see why emotions are needed,
Or why some want only the good ones.
Without having something bad,
Does good even exist anymore?
If one cannot feel the pain of heartbreak,
How do they know they have lost love?

I don't see why people strive to succeed,
Or why they care what others think of them.
Whenever you strive for something you want,
Who says you know how to get it?
If somebody doesn't think your outfit is cute,
How does that affect their day?

I don't see why people want to change others,
Or why happiness is so elusive.
Trying to change somebody is like catching air.
You know you can do it but there's nothing to prove!
If you always try to make others happy,
How can you be happy with no results?

I don't see why people fear death,
Or don't bother trying to live out loud.
Whose to say you will die when?
Still you don't know how even.
If you don't have fun living,
How do you show that you ever lived?

I can't see the future,
Or all past events.
I only see the here and now.
Is that a bad thing?
If this is Life's gift,
How can you not call it the present?
