Simpleness Poem by Jennifer Dott

Simpleness

Rating: 5.0

Sweetness of light will wash over the land
the purity of the light,
washing through the body,
happiness fills the mind
love fills the eyes
and peace is within the soul;
But then the darkness will reign,
and all that was good in the world
will fade...
Until there is nothing left but death and pain.
Glimmers of hope here and there
but nothing will be the same,
the heart hardens,
the spirit disperses,
and the body crumples into nothing.
Just a figure, just matter
no life in those eyes;
Just stop for a moment
and listen to the world.
Listen to the beauty in each sound,
the rain
the wind
the bird's song.
Something so simple
can bring an empty heart to life.
