Sista-Girl - Poem by Barely There

When a Sista-Girl cry
It be like a dove done died

I pat her on the back
say everything be just fine
Here you go, drink some more of this
cheap ass wine

He done broke your heart
He done broke your spirit
He done broke your self
Now be time for the healing

Cry all night long
‘For when the morning come
Them tears better be gone

‘Cause you got more living to do
More laughs to share
You be sweeter than any air

These niggas can’t touch the
light in your eyes
that switch in your step
the life in your thighs

Can’t you see?

you be sweeter than air
