Sit And Go - Poem by P. A. Donohue

Players assemble six I know
The buy-ins presented, sit and go
Drinks poured, cigars lit, chips piled high
Hope luck is my bitch, that's all right
Button on my right my blind small
Ante is cheap and so I call
Paired eights go trip popped the flop
Bullet shows too high pair got topped
Raised bet squeeze play or so I think
Turned bullet, float a boat - Can't sink
Post committed, on river queen
Should fore tell it as now is seen
Eights full of aces a dead man's hand
By aces, queens; a full house stands.

Shuffled cards another hand dealt
Slide the cards cross the green silk felt
Portray my hand the stakes held high
Next ups the ante on the sly
Implying nuts or so it seems
Woolworth's sale a likely scheme
Bend the corners to take a peek
My puppy feet paint, big slick sweet
Rest of the board fold, game too rich
Can not limp now, ALL IN can't twitch
We two rise, turn over, reveal
Which one goes to work which one steals
Flop, turn, a river should not say
He went home early - I GOT PAID!
