Sit Here Waiting Poem by Kashumaru Mizume

Sit Here Waiting

I sit here thinking
Thoughts of the past and now
Did you know my love? Do you know it now?
Oh how I’ve loved you before and still do now
People close to me keep saying different
They tell me it was just a faze that hasn’t faded yet
Oh how they’ve tried to convince me, saying such things

Loved ones said you weren’t my one, but I ignored them
Friends said I’d be better off without but I didn’t listen
They don’t know me, how I felt and still feel for you
I’ve tried before to forget you, to forget those cherished memories
Went to others in hopes to subside the pain that etched inside my heart
But it did nothing for me, only increased the thoughts of you

Leaving them behind I am alone but I don’t mind
To me, I would never be happy unless it was you at my side
And because this knowledge, I sit here now
My heart waiting for your embrace
And my thoughts embracing the memories of you
