Slain Of The Fallen Poem by olivia helmes

Slain Of The Fallen

A crunch enters the silence as I step on the fallen and slain
Feeling the crisp breeze clear out my mind
Hearing nothing as fall brings out moments left behind
Yet no matter of colors changing can bring you back into my eye

One tree holds no prejudice and neither do I
Come back into my heart and let the colors never shy
Pretty skies the blocks forming I love you from the seasons
Though sometimes as you they leave without reason

Fall
Fall down
Let the fallen leaves guide you to my heart
Love
Love me again
Don’t let memories past block you from coming back
And here I will be stuck in the fall waiting
Sweet never forgotten bloom

Innocence thorns never do retain and somehow neither did we
My blood holds no fire when held to a flame
Burned once never to be burned again

Into me you collided your heart to mine
Sharing every thought without question under that October sky
The grasses color may stray but from me please do not
A lover I’ve lost and once I wish could be re-taught

Fall
Fall down
Let the fallen leaves guide you to my heart
Love
Love me again
Don’t let memories past block you from coming back
And here I will be stuck in the fall waiting
Sweet never forgotten bloom

Falls sweet mysteries haven’t brought you back to me
But I still wait to see
If those leave slain and fallen
Fall
Fall down
Let the fallen leaves guide you to my heart
Love
Love me again
Don’t let memories past block you from coming back
And here I will be stuck in the fall waiting
For that Once sweet now turning bitter blossom
To fall down to me
