Sleepless Poem by Alyona Korovnik

Sleepless

Rating: 5.0

Sleepless nights
Mind keeps floating to the memories of the past
Trying to keep myself busy
Movies, songs, preachers, dating apps
Every night ends up in tears
The memories just take over
Every night I tell myself it will be the last night
One night it will be the last night
I will never see him again
No matter how much I want him back
His new love makes all his dreams come true
When you love someone, you be happy for them
We both kept hurting each other until he found someone knew
I have been on dates, I had men wanting to settle down
Every guy treats me more amazing then the last, more handsome then the last
Wishing I could move on as quickly
My family still asks about him
Ever mention of him feels like bullet
I just want to be free, free of the memories
I do not know how long I will be able to take all the sleepless nights
