Sleepy Tokyo Streets Poem by Jeffrey Dean Gray

Sleepy Tokyo Streets

I feel such unity with sleep
With everyone's sleep -
The young
And old
Famous
The unheard of
Those that are wealthy
Those that are poor
Nearby and far, the far away drift like me
I wonder if they dream like me
Of colors and the beautiful
Places maybe
Country cabins and familiar Tokyo streets
When they nightmare
Is it the opposite of me?
Is it of ice and metal?
Or the same?
Death and torment
I never feel that way
About us that are awake
