Smile Poem by Howard Osborne

Smile

SMILE

A knowing smile can have many meanings
Whether one's teeth are displayed, or not
But twisted lips could suggest odd leanings

Yet a smile might hint at some hidden plot
It also may show an expression of pleasure
As was Guinevere's smile just for Lancelot

Yet even so, it's quite difficult to measure
It can reflect some anticipation of success
Or that look of relaxation at one's leisure

But lips that are smiling often invite caress
Perhaps it's some secret never to be shared
Or maybe just a reluctance to ever confess

Yet when a smile shows teeth that are bared
Be wary, as few within range may be spared
