So I Thought Of You Poem by Minnie Gehrig

So I Thought Of You

I couldnt believe you stood that day,
Drinking whiskey with my babys daddy,
and all the drama and tears of flesh
as I kept him off me like ripping off a bandaid

and you watching trying to see through
all the bullshit with squinting brown eyes,

wondering what the hell you got yourself into,
and as I walked you out and stood on the tippy toes of adoration,
N your tounge met mine with sparks and flames,
You told me it was the strangest day spent,
though you still want to see me,

even though you skated in the park all day
and I got more nervous by the minute,
thinking you would not call back you did,

and though my bed was absent of you,
my smile was not,
so I could only think
How much I liked you more in your absesnse,
