So Much Depends Upon An Apple Tree - Poem by Charl JF Cilliers

There is an object
hanging in a tree.

To whom is it some
thing if not to someone

who may see
it there?

That object
in a tree.

Its image
once in the mind

resounds within with ripples
from the genesis of humankind.

Once seen
can there then

be

still

just a tree
in which
there is

an object
hanging

free?
