Soft Cushion Poem by Mohammad Yousef

Soft Cushion

By Mohammad A Yousef

In the stillness of twilight,
where shadows weave their gentle tales,
you await, my steadfast companion,
the soft cushion cradling dreams
and whispers of forgotten yesterdays.

With fibers spun from the essence of comfort,
you beckon me, a sanctuary of solace,
each thread a promise,
each seam a secret kept—
the world outside fades,
a distant echo, hushed and muted.

I sink into your embrace,
the weight of worries dissolving,
as if the universe itself conspired
to wrap me in this cozy cocoon,
where thoughts can roam freely,
unfettered by the harshness of reality.

Your plush surface, a canvas
for the imprint of my weary soul,
the rise and fall of my breath,
a rhythm pulsating with life,
each sigh a testament
to the comfort found in stillness.

Here, laughter echoes softly,
the moments shared,
the weight of a friend's voice,
and the soft rustle of pages turning,
stories unfurling like petals in spring,
each word a petal, each pause a sigh.

You cradle my heart,
as I lean back, surrendering to the quiet,
the gentle invitation of your softness,
an oasis in the chaos,
the world outside a tempest,
but here, within your arms, I am safe.

With every curve, a memory lingered,
the imprint of afternoons,
the warmth of a cup shared,
the solace of solitude,
the laughter that dances,
the tears that find their rest,
all woven into your tender fabric.

You are the heart of my sanctuary,
the haven where dreams take flight,
the soft cushion of my existence,
where burdens melt away like morning mist,
and I am reminded,
in this cocoon of comfort,
that it is okay to be vulnerable,
to be unguarded,
to simply be.

So here I dwell, in the embrace of your softness,
a world of wonder at my fingertips,
ready to soar into the vastness,
with you as my launchpad,
my eternal companion,
in this dance of life and dreams,
forever my soft cushion,
where every moment is cradled
in the tender heart of home.
