Solitary Pursuit Poem by Sean McCoy

Solitary Pursuit

Woke up with verse in my head.
Now it is seeping out
onto the paper.
I am going to have
to wash my hands
when I am done.

Like after another solitary pursuit
best done behind closed doors.
Mr. Heinlein I am in your debt
for that paraphrased and stolen line.

Writing is best done
with dirty hands
and a dirty mind.
