Solitude Poem by Cyrus Shelley

Solitude

When you awake and do not see the sun,
Though it is shining brightly in the sky
And when the presence of a man
Disturbs your mind every time -
This is misanthropy.

But when you shun mad haste and fuss,
Ignoring empty words of crowds,
And seek a lonely place to muse,
To look at Mother Nature's charms —
This is enlightenment - solitude.
