Solstice Poem by Petra Novakova

Solstice

The Sunchild brings with her the promise of the Sun
Born on the twenty-first, on the longest of nights
She cries and wails for her mothers womb
Alive and well she chases far far away
The Shadows of days to come
The Solstice Gods reborn
The Shadows of future days past
Alive and well he welcomes all to stay
He is sweet and silent in his mothers arms
Born on the twenty-first, on the longest of days
The Nightchild beckons the darkness of the Moon
