Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others Poem by Omar Seguna

Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others

Maybe not all dogs have a bone
or I don't have a destined throne.

Maybe someone else rigged the race
or I have knocked on the wrong place?

Or I don't have a poker face,
I'm so naive to play wrong ace.

Do I have to remain a passive spectator
or accept to be ruled by mighty dictator?
Are some animals more equals than others,
or are we supposed to all live like brothers?

Should I pretend I know everything
or be on the soapbox flattering?

Should I befriend my longtime neighbor
or should I try to curry favour?

Should I lip service? Should I have lied?
Should I have been a Jekyll and Hyde?

Did some made fortunes and others gone to the wall?
Is this country for the cliques or is it for all?
