Some Days At The Office.... Poem by Daniel Paul

Some Days At The Office....

Combed hair, well polished shoes and pressed siut....
Pick today's newspaper from the stand and board a taxi to work.....
Put on a smile when you arrive at your station...
A few handshakes with coworkers and throw in a comment or complement someone.....

Settle in and get ready to ink papers the whole day...
Receive a text from your lady and reply with witty emojis....
A tea time, don't be an extra, just drink it hot...
Look into your files and read your notes to make updates........

Attend to your crush..
Once in a while move your eyes to glance at her...
Keep her picture in your mind all day....
When the day gets tough, sneak out and head to the liquor store or a brothel...
Come in high, grab a cup and tap some water, gulp it and take your place at your table....

Skip lunch, and steady your self for a meeting with a cohort of young fellows who pay for your scientific knowledge....
Engage them, and issue out a task...
Back at your desk, only converse about political and social matters...

Decline any advances from the lowlife fellows and incline your style on the gentleman's checklist...
Day is over, head to your apartment...
Text your mother and bye your dame goodnight....

Calculate your finances..
Put in an alarm for an early stir...
Sleep tight...
