Some Hopes Poem by Mary Champion

Some Hopes

My heart was light as feathers
and hope infused my soul.
My feelings went too deep for words
and yet I knew them all.

There was a voice which could be heard
above the raging storm,
it sang as sweet as any bird
and made the cold air warm

It's song was heard in ev'ry land,
though far across the sea
'Remember in extremity
to keep your faith in me.'
