Some Other Way Poem by Dashaun Rashod Snipes

Some Other Way

Rating: 5.0

In this life, we all make mistakes
We stumble and fall, we cause heartaches
We hurt those we love, we break their trust
Leaving them in pain, a heavy burden they must
But there must be some other way
To move forward, to forgive and not stray
From the path of love and healing
To let go of the past, to find new meaning
For too long, I've carried this weight
Of guilt and shame, my heart does ache
I long for forgiveness, to be set free
From the chains of my own iniquity
There must be some other way
To move past the crowd, to find my way
Through the iron gates of your heaven
And leave behind the hurt, the pain, and the leaven
Let me delete all transgression
That's been the cause of this great repression
Of my spirit's right to access
A higher ground, a place of peace and progress
Some other way, some other way
I plead and pray, for a brighter day
Where we can all learn to forgive
And in love and harmony, truly live
This poem, it may not be enough
To erase the past, to smooth out the rough
But in its words, I hope you'll find
A glimmer of hope, a way to rewind
For there must be some other way
To move past the hurt, to see a new day
Let forgiveness be our guiding light
And lead us to a future, free from any spite
So let's embrace this journey, hand in hand
Let's find our way, to a promised land
Where peace and love will reign supreme
And we'll see, there's some other way to redeem.
