SOMETHING I LOOK AT-352
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY
I don't see you
I don't hear you
How can l?
You are deep inside,
in the secret chambers
of my heart.
I only feel you
as I feel the air I breathe,
I see you as I see the Unseen,
His beauty and grace
But I sense you as a part of me
without which I do not exist, yes I do not exist
You are the beats of my heart
without which I can not live,
you are the beauty of my soul
without which my life is but
an island of darkness where I grope for a ray of light which invariably eludes my grasp
Nobody can take your space
None was there where you are
None will be there where you are not only in this life but also in the lives yet to come
Indebted to you, my love
you made dessert a paradise, a hard stone a fountain of love, gave meaning and purpose to a life devastated by cyclonic wind and the boisterous sea
You are that bewitching shower in the summer afternoon, that fragrant breeze of the spring, that melody of the cuckoo, that touch of grace and love in my life without which I may live but without having any life in me.
