SOMETHING I LOOK AT-361
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY
Deep in the heart of my heart, you stay,
In the soul of my soul, so far away.
How unfortunate I am, my dear,
I've yet to see you, feel you near.
My eyes long for your face to meet,
My ears yearn for your voice so sweet.
But you're on an island, distant, unknown,
Where my dreams can't reach, and I'm alone.
Yet though unseen, unheard you are,
You shine in beauty, near or far.
I see you in blooms that grace the air,
In murmuring streams, soft and fair.
The mountains echo your steady voice,
In cuckoo's songs, I hear my choice.
My heart consoles, though we're apart,
You dwell within, my soul, my heart.
So smile, my love, wherever you go,
Like a child with a radiant glow.
Spread your fragrance, pure and true,
For your joy is mine, my heart renews.
And when I journey to the other side,
Your smile and memory will be my guide.
