Something I Look At-363

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-363
BY- SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

My mind is blank, my pen won't sway
I'm lost for words, each passing day
I know not what to write, or for whom I should try
The purpose of my words, I question why

Now I see the fall,
How it feels when love departs,
When you're erased from someone's heart,
When priorities change, and memories fade
When you become an antic in the show case

Now I feel your pain,
The storm, the endless rain,
What you endured when I couldn't give,
The love you sought to truly live.

Let your tears and aches be mine,
Your heartburns and sorrows intertwine.
Let me feel your wounded beat,
Your sighs, your loneliness, complete.

Believe me, I never meant to harm,
To bring you grief, to steal your calm.
How could I wound the one I love?
I swear by all the stars above.

Forgive me, if your heart allows,
For not being there through troubled vows.
I own my faults, I bear this chain,
Prepared to carry eternal pain.

Though life and fate both played their part,
I accept my role in breaking your heart.
I'll suffer the consequences, though circumstance played its part
My love for you remains, forever in my heart.
