Something I Look At-383

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-383
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

You silently moved away,
leaving me drowning in sorrow's grey.
Have you ever thought what your absence would do,
how I'd survive my days without you?
When even a single day feels like despair,
How can I endure when you're not there?

You're surrounded by many, yet you've cast me away.
though my heart, faultless, begged you to stay.
If your happiness lies in leaving me,
I'll accept it as my destiny.
I'll swallow my tears, no matter the ache,
and hope for a tomorrow that may never awake.

Even if I am not by your side,
My wishes for you will forever abide.
Even if you don't love me, I'll stay true,
my love unbound, eternal for you.
It stands untouched by sun or rain,
unshaken by tsunamis, immune to pain.

How can you deny the one who prays?
for nothing but peace in all your days?
Understand, some things one cannot do,
but that doesn't mean my love is untrue.

Since you've gone, I merely survive,
living a shell, though barely alive.
How my heart beats, I'll never know.
when its rhythm left with you long ago.
