A tribute to Bauri apa

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-386
SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

SUNDARMANI MOHANTY

Soft-spoken and tender, she was Padmapur's pride.

Under her care, love and warmth did abide.

Nurtured seven sons, with grandsons galore,

Daughter and daughter-in-law of Padmapur's core.

Apa to all, with a heart open wide,

Religiously devoted, with Udas Jamuna Das as her guide.

Memories of her linger; her kindness shines bright.

Affectionate and compassionate, her love was our light.

Never did she falter in her duty to care,

In her home, every soul found solace and share.

Married to Dharmananda, her village bond strong,

Our playful noise she bore all day long.

Her privacy we disturbed, yet she'd never complain,

A heart full of love, never seeking personal gain.

Nirmala and Dinabandhu's precious delight,

Treasured forever, her legacy shines bright.

Years may pass, but her memory takes flight.

Padmapur weeps for its dearest Apa.,

A beacon of love, a true matriarchal saga.

Departed in 2011, yet her essence remains pure,

Mother to many, her spirit will endure.

All who knew her cherish her grace,

Padmapur's Apa, forever in her place.

United in love, her legacy is vast,

Remembered with reverence, her impact will last.
