Somewhere Between Then And Now Poem by Farhat Naseem

Somewhere Between Then And Now

Rating: 5.0

She was once a laugh, a smile so bright,
A heart full of life, a soul alight.
But ten years passed, and tears did flow,
And laughter silenced, as sorrows grew.

Family ties, once strong, now frayed,
Friends turned foes, and love delayed.
Academic dreams, shattered and cold,
Politics and pain, my heart did unfold.

Expectations weighed, like chains on me,
'Be this, be that, ' a constant plea.
But I'm lost, numb, and broken inside,
Unable to meet, the eyes that guide.

They question my choices, day and night,
But I'm too tired, to put up a fight.
My heart, once full, now empty and grey,
Longs for love, in a world gone astray.

Yet, in the shadows, a spark remains,
A glimmer of hope, through all the pains.
A voice whispers, 'You will rise anew, '
And find the love, that's meant for you.

Somewhere between then and now,
I'll find my strength, and let go somehow.
The weight of expectations, the sting of shame,
And learn to love, without the need to explain.
