Song Of Surrender Poem by Mystic Qalandar

Song Of Surrender

Why does the prayer
gather in my throat,
a stone of longing
I cannot swallow?

To speak so simply: Stay—
just a little longer.
To confess that all my calm
rests on the ground of Your presence.

And yet, how swiftly false words rise,
a well-rehearsed incantation:
I walk alone.
I will be fine.
I promise.

A vow to the air, to You,
to that trembling within me
afraid it might be true.

This is the armor I wear—
the illusion of self-sufficiency.
Yet in truth,
I was made to be intertwined.
Every fiber of my being
reaches for its Root in You.

Without You, each step is hollow,
a ritual performed
before an empty stage.

O Beloved,
give me the courage to be unarmed,
to lay down every veil,
to end this weary hiding.

I fear that if I am found,
You may turn away—
or worse,
leave me to the silence.

So I whisper again:
Stay—just a little longer.
See through my façade,
and remind me
we are not strangers,
but mirrors
in the same Light.

For to need, and be needed,
is not defeat—
but revelation:
the soul remembering its Source,
the river returning to the sea.

Tell me, Beloved,
that Love is the eternal game
where surrender is not loss,
but the only victory.
