Sonnet For Jayden Poem by Daniel McCann

Sonnet For Jayden

Lucas Davidson Jr:

He is going to grow up a leader
others will follow him they will win wars
out of the scared he'll make a believer
he will dictate and preach not for applause
but to keep the family name forever
in the life he'l live we will never die
he'l be the eldest the more the better
he will never give in, he'l always try
his brother and sisters will look to him
I will teach him, give him discipline,
at the same time always be good to him
holding him I must look so big to him
our family may lose but he will save them
one day they will all know baby Jayden.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is one of the early Sonnets for a play called Cross Fire which I am working on. Lucas Davidson Jr is holding the new born baby Jayden and what is above are the words he speaks to his girlfriend Isabel as she lies in the bed listening.
