Sorrow Of Calypso Poem by Mater Umbrarum

Sorrow Of Calypso

Oh fateful day, that in which to my arms you strayed
Broken as your weak sighs begged for aid
In the shores of what became our shared exile,
Our ever hidden spot in a lonesome isle

Your gaze like a shy touch, fluttering
As my voice in a caress would sing
Of the treasures of eternal devotion,
Stirring in your heart tender emotion

It marked the beginning, the middle, the end
Of what we thought we'd have without pretend
But cruel is the steady hand of Master Destiny
That of our love decided to make a mockery

For in every breath, laid a stop
As fast as a blinking thought
That heralded your mortal escape
From my arms, to those of unpitying Fate

Now you've left me, oh wanderer of the sea
Once called me Calypso, not knowing that's what I'd be
While you travel deep waters, I haunt ashy land
Eternally separated by reasons we cannot understand
