Soul Status - Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Be still my soul in doubtless trust
Let faith become your guide
Let darkness fail and turn to dust
This side of life’s divide

Believe in God and Christ His Son
The cross where love’s displayed
Where man’s great fight for life was won
And Adam’s debt was paid

Rejoice dear soul in truth’s caress
In love’s unfailing care
Allow your Lover richly bless
Through all He longs to share

Investing in the soon to be
Accepting Heaven’s word
Until the day we truly see
The promises we’ve heard

The living facts are never far
The truth we’ve come to learn
Before we face The Morning Star
World bridges need to burn

Defeat the emptiness within
The void of darkest night
Cast down the crown of wanton sin
And walk the Path of Light

God loves the sinner lost and blind
The sheep who’re led astray
He sees the heart and troubled mind
Walking their twisted way

So rest assured repentant soul
Hold fast to grace divine
For Jesus’ blood has made you whole
And endless life is mine
