Speech!
There is more to it than mumbling some words,
Or tossing a phrase for sake of one’s presence.
Speech is like dancing.
Some can and some can’t.
Some could but just won’t.
While others might try,
Again and again,
Yet still just in vain.
The dancing of words.
Each step is one sound, or mimic or silence.
You can’t put it all on only one line.
Each dancer has style, in dancing and moving.
You might dance the foxtrot,
You might do the monkey.
What ever the dance, remember to practice!
And when time is ripe reveal all its splendor.
Surprise and amaze, don’t beg for ovations.
And someday and somewhere you’ll serve as quotations.
