Spirals Poem by Chris Bradshaw

Spirals

So tell me again what it means to be free
How the lightness of love carries seeds of relief

And describe in detail how a strong heart can fail
I know you've heard that one, somewhere on your trail

Because it seems like your answers are turning the tide
Of a spiraling current caught somewhere inside

And I find myself flowing, first forward, then back
On a strange new plateau of expression and tact

Leading out to an ocean of timeless expanse
Where ideas come spinning like lovers entranced

And all I can do
Is sit here and wait
For another long night
Of electric debate
