Spreading Light Poem by Sivaprasad Parackal

Spreading Light

Rating: 5.0

Spreading Light

Gone have we beyond the halfway mark
A few leaps and creeps ahead before dark
Never has it been a joyous ride
Nothing left to nourish our pride

Twilight falls on us soon
So bury the hatchet of the noon
And heal the wounds of the soul
As time not left for another brawl

Shall not there be room for vengeance
Time has come up for penance
Let's adorn our lips with the best pill
Which love and care instill

Let's kindle the lamp within
And spread the light wherein
We chance to sojourn
On our way to the urn
