Spring From My Window Poem by Laila Banjar

Spring From My Window

I sit at the window and watch the world rise,
My eyes flicker between the trees and the brightening skies,
My hands cold to touch, my breath billowing and hot,
I remember the fresh spring mornings that are so often forgot.

The winter is returning to its slumber so deep,
The earth is stirring, breathing, life will soon wake from its sleep,
As I sit and stare outwards at the breaking, calm dawn,
I sigh and think fondly of the new lives that are born.

Spring brings me new energy, like a wave of relief,
The babies are coming, filled with hope and belief,
The greenery is returning, the flowers will grow,
The earth once again changes, and new life is on show.

I sit at the window and watch the world live,
The immense beauty of life and the joy that it gives,
As I watch the world waking, I remember earth's power,
Bringing so much worth watching, a change every hour.

The dew on the grass, the morning birdsong,
Leaves blanket the skies, the animals where they belong,
The freshness of beginnings encapsulates my heart,
I live in a world where every creature plays its part.

The new beginnings of spring, a rich world to explore,
New bark on the trees, new animals to adore,
New adventures, new fun, the possibilities are vast,
Goodbye to the cold winter, I see spring at long last.
