I am only a child,
Why do they have to laugh at me
and only care about my feelings for awhile?

I am only a girl,
Why do they have to toy me
and try to rule my world?

I am only a teenager,
Why do they have to share lies instead of secrets,
a few months instead of forever?

I am only a woman,
Why do they have to burn away my property
and act as if they're concerned?

I am only an old lady,
Why do they have to burden me
and just, let me be?

I am only a child,
Living in this playground of mine,
I am only a girl,
Still not knowing anything about this world,
I am only a teenager,
Learning what exists forever and what will disappear,
I am only a woman,
Learning how to try to succeed, lose and earn,
I am only an old lady,
Waiting for my last breath and heartbeat in me.
