Stars Hung From The Cloud Poem by Sani Yusif Aminu

Stars Hung From The Cloud

Stars hung from the cloud
Burnish'd their heinous bright,
When the moon was quite white.
Nature, you did me proud,
Every cloud has a silver
Lining like quicksilver.

The Stars griev'd the pass of their peers,
Weeping and shivering with pain!
Whizzing and wandering thro' vein!
Went on from place to place in fears.
Sheer misery and grief everywhere
With mixture of solace anywhere.

The Stars fell asleep in
The police stations, farm'
Mewed at me, untold harm
Was exposed and virgin
Skirts grew up in zillion,
Trousers grew in zillion.

Prior to the polling stations—
Prohibitve-price and bank debts,
Soaring inflation and bad debts,
Prior to the polling stations—
The rich and old told lies!
Wait! See how the land lies.

The Villa teach's everyone lesson.
When the pols seek our cards in Feb,
When the polls are opened in Feb,
The Stars should teach them a lesson.
We'd vote Broom and Umbrella out
We'd vote Fruits in—there is no doubt.
