States Of Play... Poem by Frances Kay

States Of Play...

Whispered eternity's cumbersome hold

“Nothing is for-ever … for-ever is untold”
Clasping at bones, tendrils clinging ~ unkind
Neural plasticity … wraps hugs, implant ~ bind
Memory to memory, fixing space to some place
Expectations, brains tenure … seeks touch, face-to-face

Tracing re-collections … re-connections, compass ~ map

Tracking A to B, where its gap is times trap
Ephemeral, though each moment … momentum restrained
Affronts visual cortex, reconstructing vision ~ feigned
To say nothing of sound, as it on … gaily, plays
By moments tick-tocked, attached to memory … locked ~ stays…

God … help me let go, as I seek ~ just to know

What remains … in the mutual negation, of conceived show
Where consciousness arising, pretends ~ differences vie
When interrelated, inclusive ~ states of play, do ally
Aspects … shown opposite, correlated ~ then … to die…

Imagine as noumenon, he … the total potential, conceives

Her stage, though she’s phantom … manifested ~ credentials deceive
Her phenomena ~ his other, the totality conceived
Of what, yet, he knows not … is and shall be
Sensorially perceptible ~ touch, and thus … ‘We’
