Steals The Night, Steals The Knight Poem by Dashaun Rashod Snipes

Steals The Night, Steals The Knight

Rating: 4.0

In the darkest hour of the night
A figure stealthily takes flight
With a cloak of black, as dark as coal
He roams the streets, a shadowy soul
His steps are soft, his movements quick
His intentions hidden, his motives slick
He is the thief of hearts and dreams
A master of deception, or so it seems
He steals the night, with a wink and a grin
Leaving behind a trail of sin
The stars twinkle in admiration
As he dances in the moon's illumination
But there's more to this mysterious knight
Than just his cunning and his might
For in his heart, a longing resides
A desire for love, that he tries to hide
He steals the night, but what does he seek
Is it just for thrills, or something deep
Does he chase these shadows to hide his pain
Or has he just lost his heart in vain
With each stolen moment, he feels alive
But as dawn approaches, he must survive
For when the sun rises, his powers fade
And he returns to his lonely charade
So let him roam, let him take flight
For in the darkness, he finds his light
A knight of darkness, a thief of hearts
He steals the night, but love steals his heart.
