Sticks N Stones Pt 2 Poem by Lilith Van'Nightinveil

Sticks N Stones Pt 2

Sticks and stones may crack my frame,
But your words, they fuel the flame.

Throw your barbs, you'll never catch me,
With a glare, I'll set my spirit free.

Sticks and stones may bruise my skin,
Your words, they crawl, they seep within.

With head held high, no triumph worn,
I'll walk away, your spite I'll scorn.

Sticks and stones may leave their trace,
But your words cut through, an endless chase.

You see my scars, you wear that grin,
I'll bow my head, my strength within.

Sticks and stones may take their toll,
Yet your words, they gnaw at my soul.

You watch me stumble, down the hall I sway,
With a triumphant grin, you go your way.

I meet your gaze with haunted eyes,
But you, with words, bring only lies.

Sticks and stones may wound my core,
Your words, they haunt me, more and more.

Blood drips o'er notes, your cruel decree,
People scream, they weep for me.

Sticks and stones may try to break,
But words can shatter, make hearts ache.

You wait for me in the corridor's shade,
But I've found peace, in the choices made.

Sticks and stones may mark the fray,
Words can harm, they lead astray.

Though the past is grim, the future's wide,
For in the end, it's love that'll be our guide.

You're too stunned to comprehend,
How words can hurt or lead to the end.

Your name on a note, a fate's cruel disguise,
The principal's sorrow-filled eyes, our last goodbyes.
