Still The Raging River - Poem by Billie Jeanne James

Still thy rising voice the angry vicious word of hate
That seal the innocent victims fate
Still thy hand of violence against thy neighbors head
That fills an innocent heart with fearfull dread
Still the raging river of wars bloodshed
Still all the senseless slaughter of the myriads of war dead
Rather rise thy eager voice
For blessed Peace rejoice
Set thy strong hand
To plowshare to scatter the seed of Peace in every land
Let Peace flow as a crystal clear river from shore to shore
Forever more, forevermore
