Stormy Night - Poem by Moriah Schutt

The rain falls
like someone in love
unsteady, in waves
at different speeds, and yet
so gracefully

Each drop a tear
of a broken heart
desperately looking for
the warming love of the Earth

Lightning cracks
A brief second of insanity
the remnants of a past
the rain drops fall to forget

Thunder following proves
that love grows
after being shattered.
Lazily it rolls across the stormy sky
Healing the break in the clouds
The lightning once left

Now this is a wonderful poem, a stormy night has many facets of emotion, if it occurs in an ocean with fishermen...it is cruel and a terror, if it is in a desert...it is a blessing with each thunder shouting amen. Good job, thanks for posting. (Report) Reply
