Stranger Within Poem by Cyclopseven R

Stranger Within

A stranger within lurks in silence
with occasional noise a stranger from within
weighs me down with conflicting arrays of thought.

The stranger within - the mind
takes me through the tunnel of life
within and within my wings spread wide
covering the barren moments and sweet occasions.

Throughout the years
an eternal affair everything appears to me
the harder I try to light my mind
the stronger the stranger react towards me
and the darkness zoom its way deeper
with light scarcely provide me a source to delight.

But within the core of the heart divine
a voice kept a constant promise with prompting
convincing my murky mind
that the clear reflection of my mind is waiting ahead
to that pool I must travel with unwavering faith
yet my march took a suspicious faith to follow.

The shadowy reflection of my illusory thoughts
cheated me many times, diluting my hopes with pessimism
that the rope of survival I mistaken for snake
and in utter confusion, everything Confucius disappears into oblivion.

Along the way I tried always to convince the stranger within
that life’s ultimate, ends in unison but through duality
but in pleasure that cuddles, the mind remain obstinate
life is duality but through unison it says.

Alas, the struggle with the stranger within
a journey with flimsy hopes
until I know him, the stranger within
an enemy he shall remain for me
and reality will be an utopian dream.

The stranger within
is verily a stranger mistaken
by you and me and all around us
