Strike A Tune Maestro Poem by Max McGovern

Strike A Tune Maestro

Strike a tune maestro
For a most fortuitous tale
Is about to be told.

Laid out and pinned down
With every detail
exhaustingly examined
In the proper order

Of course.
Lets peruse through the evidence

See its really getting late
There are specks of blood
Here and there
And brains are on this plate.

This little birdies telling
Me that this place is a lie,
My, I would not want to live here
Even if I was a fly.

There! a rotten lovely odor
Simmers over the meat pie, it’s a stew
For me and you
My friend
Or stew for you and I?

And the insect kingdom join us
Till the god of kingdom come
As we’re all considered equal under
One big golden sun,
That will explode into the night
Try to ignite the universe
Setting into action entire new versions
Of our good single earth
Helping whole new systems change
And then invariably grow
So someday we might be human
On a new and distant soil.
